CONVICTION HAS
NO
AUTOPILOT.

ReformRebell brings together queer culture, AI literacy and digital self-determination. Out of the conviction that technology can set you free or lock you in, and that this decision should be made not by algorithms, but by you.

The real rebellion is not against technology. It is against the prejudice that it is not for you.

We are a digital underground lab for queer identity and AI literacy, not as an academic project but as lived practice. You can know Berghain and understand how a neural network works. You can be at home in the scene and know who controls your data. That is not a contradiction. That is the point.

Queer voices are voices with substance.

We are not a poster child. Not a problem case. We are people with perspectives who see the world differently, and the world would owe this view quite a lot.

We write from queer standpoints, not about queer topics. That changes everything: the questions that get asked, the answers that get given, and how things are named.

Technology is not neutral.

Algorithms make decisions, and they make them based on data. That data is never neutral. It reflects the biases of the people who collected it.

We look at where technology and identity grind against each other: how AI systems filter out trans identities, how algorithms make queerness invisible and how data collection moves the boundaries of privacy, faster for some than for others.

Conviction is a design principle.

We do not write for an imaginary audience that first needs convincing. We write for people who know what we are talking about, and for everyone who wants to find out without it feeling like homework.

We take a position and do not apologise for it. Not out of arrogance, but out of respect for readers who are smart, and for debates that get to start with substance instead of justification.

Community comes before content.

ReformRebell does not exist to generate engagement, count clicks or pass as a progressive brand.

We exist to give something to queer people in Germany. That means: staying quiet when silence protects. Getting loud when it is needed. Documenting when history would otherwise be forgotten.

Inclusion is not a pose.

For us, inclusive language is not a line in a style guide. Queer perspectives are not a diversity quota. Being trans is not a topic we write about, but part of our reality.

We treat inclusion as structure, not as a feeling: people belong instead of being invited. Perspectives do not have to be requested first. Accessibility is the standard, not the exception.

MISSION

UNDERSTAND IT,
USE IT CRITICALLY,
DON'T LOSE YOURSELF.

If you do not understand AI systems, you are at their mercy. If you do not know how bias arises, it shapes you without you noticing. We offer language, tools and context, especially for everyone who thought technology was not for people like them.

VISION

QUEER AND
SELF-DETERMINED
ARE THE SAME THING.

ReformRebell is the exit onto the street: loud, close to the scene, direct. BUNKROS is the quiet engine room behind it. Both stand on the same foundation: you can learn this. You stay in control. The technology belongs to you, not the other way round.

Lots of AI. But under control.

Yes, we use AI, and we use it a lot: for research, drafts, music, tools and workflows. That does not contradict our critical stance; it is ambivalence in practice. We use the systems and question them at the same time.

For us, AI is always a tool, never an authority. No AI system decides on content, moderation or people. A human always has the last word.

Our AI chat runs through an external provider. It is meant as a format for conversation and learning: a sparring partner that sparks thinking, not one to trust blindly. For medical, legal, psychological or financial questions, never rely on it alone.

One bomber jacket. No more. No less.

We are not selling a lifestyle brand. Our merch is deliberately simple, a sign of recognition for people who know what it stands for. We do not want a hypergrowth brand or a fashion line.

Whatever is left after costs goes back into content, tools, community projects and accessibility. No profits for personal enrichment. It is written here so that it is public and you can hold us to it.

Why sell anything at all? Because we want to stay independent: no investors, no ads, no corporation behind us. Financial independence is the precondition for editorial independence.

Cynical. But not malicious.

Our stories have a sharp undertone. That is not a pose, it is conviction: some things have to be called by their name, without the polite padding that defuses criticism before it lands.

Precise cynicism is a form of honesty. We do not treat discrimination and the criticism of it as equally valid positions. We have a standpoint and we stand by it.

What we are not: insulting, hurtful for effect, or hostile towards people who start from somewhere else. Our sharpness is aimed at systems, structures and power, not at people who are still searching. Anyone asking questions is welcome, wherever they are coming from.

There is no right way to be queer, no right way to be a techie and no right way to rebel.

Legal ↗
18+.

We talk openly about identity, sexuality, desire, dating and bodily autonomy. That is why our content is aimed at adults.

Respect is the foundation.

Hate speech, discrimination, harassment or content that demeans people for their identity has no place here and leads to exclusion.

No commercial use without asking.

ReformRebell content, tools and formats may not be used commercially, copied or resold without explicit permission. Sharing with credit is welcome.

Data minimisation.

We only collect what is needed to run the site. We do not sell data and we do not use hidden trackers. Details are in the privacy notice.

Self-discovery, not diagnosis.

Our games, prompts and self-tests are meant for reflection and learning. Some deliberately go deep. They do not replace medical, therapeutic or psychiatric support. In a crisis, please turn to a professional first, for example the German TelefonSeelsorge on 0800 111 0 111.

AI makes mistakes.

Every AI answer, including those from our chat, can be wrong, incomplete or taken out of context. They are never the only basis for important decisions.

We are opinion journalism.

We have a standpoint and we do not hide it. Our stories are opinionated commentary from a queer perspective, and satire is labelled as satire. We check facts against sources and link to them.

This manifesto is alive.

We change it when we learn something. We make significant changes visible instead of hiding them in the small print.

HELP, DON'T
PROFIT.
BUILD, DON'T
OWN.

To ask questions, not to answer everything. That is our promise to the community.
